Biga*Ranx Dj Set

"Being such a re-sta and staying so fair is class."

BIGA*RANX is elegance set to the breath of dub, a poetry that floats between reggae and vapor, a gentle ragga that seeps in like a luminous mist. His music is fine, polished and intelligent, with a precise aesthetic that transforms each track into a soundscape. An artist who has grown without losing his accuracy, a great figure who has remained simple, faithful to his creativity. What a thrill to welcome him under the chapiteau in this formula combining DJ set and microphone, it's going to be unique and big...

PROG IS SOMETIMES JUST A PHIL...

Where and when did you first hear it?
It goes back to the very beginning of his career, when he was already simmering in the pot of ragga, which I never really fell into... I clearly liked it, but it wasn't my universe yet. The revelation came later, in a featuring with Blundetto. A polished aesthetic, subtle lyrics, a rare finesse. I realized that I'd missed out on a major artist, and that his music had matured with singular intelligence. Since then, the desire to welcome him to the festival has grown and grown.

His music in 3 words, or more...?
Poetic. Soft Ragga. Reggae dub.
His lyrics and flow are images, fragments of light set against riddims. And I say soft, because he's chosen subtlety, a hushed intensity that caresses rather than blows. And finally, because his music breathes bass and echo, a sonic mist that envelops and soothes, with an elegant, soothed and luminous vibration.

If this were the soundtrack to a daydream, what would it sound like?
A hallucinatory clip in full light, Biga*Ranx at the microphone, toasting his vapor dub at the foot of a Candide kick under the Col de Balme. A field of reggae turntables in the middle of winter, the snow sparkling and dancing to the bass, and his voice warming the icy air.

Any anecdotes about Line-up 's career?
We'd been talking about it for years, and this DJ set formula finally convinced us. Especially as it won't just be Biga behind the machines, the microphone and voice will be there, and I'm really looking forward to seeing and hearing that... There's also his link to La Clusaz through his collaborations with Candide Thovex, which makes it all the more logical that he should finally join the Circus Line-up . A rewarding wait, a shared pleasure.
