Jimena Angel
Under the warm breath of the tropics, JIMENA ANGEL makes the air pulsate like a wave of light. Her voice, half flesh, half wind, is entwined with her machines, between song and live, softness and power. She weaves the electro of her roots, blending the fire of rock with the moisture of the Caribbean. A sunny, free soul that transforms the stage into a sonic jungle, where every leaf dances in the rain of rhythms. She breathes music, tropical and alive, vibrating all the way to the mountains that surround us.
PROG IS SOMETIMES JUST A PHIL...
Where and when did you first hear it?
We met in Paris, at an event at Mazette in July, where I was programming several DJs. His proximity to the Gut's Family immediately gave me confidence... That's how it all started. His proposal is unique. Singing and playing at the same time, mixing her own compositions with a tastefully conceived electro set: it's much more than just a DJ set. Using her Ableton, she takes sounds on the road, balancing technical precision and emotion. Her musical selection, of rare finesse, perfectly matches the spirit of Circus: solar, organic, inhabited.

His music in 3 words, or more...?
Neo-electro Latino, tropical bullerengue, Caribbean and rayon. A fusion of rhythms and warmth, a Latin breath carried by percussion and sounds from elsewhere. A tropical vibe, moist and joyful, where energy blends with gentleness. And that ray, that constant light that runs through every note, between power and lightness.
If this were the soundtrack to a daydream, what would it sound like?
A terrace suspended above the jungle, somewhere on Colombia's Caribbean coast. The vegetation overflows, the sky rumbles, and its music echoes like a luminous storm. Every leaf, every branch dances in a torrential downpour of sound. It's a dream of sound in a world where nature and rhythm merge to an invisible spark.
Any anecdotes about Line-up 's career?
Singer, composer, author, she's had a thousand musical lives, culminating in a nomination for South America's equivalent of the Grammy's. Today, her sincere, vibrant tropical electro was a natural choice for our Line-up. We missed her in 2023, but she came back in 2024 to get the Alps dancing at Champ des Platines, her first in our mountains. Since then, rumor has it that her favorite nickname is J des Aravis.
