Documentary Guts "Estrellas

"This is a very special, profound project. It's the soundtrack to the encounter with my ancestors. We are the dust of their stars."
José Castro Padilla

This is not the first time that an artist-conductor has brought together musical talents from the four corners of the Atlantic. Or rather from both sides, like a multi-sonorous bridge between the Caribbean and Africa. Except that the last time, imagined by Nick Gold, the passports ran out and the guests couldn't cross, leaving Cuba alone in Cuba... and giving birth to the Buena Vista Social Club. And that's all there is to it.

On this occasion, GUTS has managed to align all its stars on the same planet, in a studio in Dakar where 25 artists with different vibrations and the same energy shine: Cyril Atef and Cucurucho Valdes, El Tipo Este and Florian Pelissier, Ousmane Ba and René Sowatche, David Walters and Brenda Navarrete, and many others to (re)discover on this unique score whose tracks take us on a journey across a thousand borders without customs posts.

From Senegalese and Cuban to Beninese and European, from Wolof and Spanish to French and Creole... Proud and festive, feverish and fiery, fraternal and fertile, fabulously mixed and frankly complicit.

With ESTRELLAS, Elliot Broué and Thomas Olland take us on a documentary dive into this project and its studio, to meet this incredible musical tribe that draws us the Caribbean and Africa in maxi stereo.

See it with your eyes closed (or almost)!
